eyeP Media introduces a new level of end-user QoE (Quality of Experience)
Thursday, July 26th, 2007LAUSANNE (Switzerland), July 27st, 2007 - eyeP Media SA, a leading provider of SIP based VoIP client software for fixed and mobile applications, today announced the introduction of the Perceptually motivated Acoustic Echo Control (PAEC) technology in its desktop product range, delivering a superior audio experience for the end-users.
Hands free voice over IP communications are often degraded by the appearance of an echo caused by the coupling of the loudspeaker and the microphone. An Acoustic Echo Canceler (AEC) is commonly used to mitigate this problem. However “the AEC technology has severe limitations when there are changes in voice level induced by background noise or body movements. Furthermore, AEC is highly compute intensive” says Alain Sturzenegger CTO of eyeP Media. “We had to introduce innovation in this area”.
“eyeP Media is delighted to introduce the PAEC technology as part of our standard software products, providing a new level of audio quality and confirming our leading position in softphone technology” said Jean-Pierre Baudouin, CEO eyepMedia. “Quality and end user satisfaction remain our top priorities”.
The PAEC technology is now available with eyeP Communicator for Windows edition product (release 1.5) and will be available with eyeP Foundation for Windows edition soon (next release).
